The Collective
The Chisme Chakra exists to support new and early‑career yoga teachers who are longing for connection, practice, and guidance beyond performative or extractive teaching spaces. We offer a collective home where teachers can gather not to perfect themselves, but to learn in relationship—with their bodies, their communities, and one another.
Within the collective, teachers are invited into a supportive environment to hone their teaching skills, experiment with sequencing and language, and teach in real time with feedback rooted in care rather than criticism. Through shared practice, reflection, and conversation, members deepen their understanding of yoga as a living, responsive practice shaped by lived experience.
Mentorship is central to this work. Teachers are supported in discovering and trusting their own teaching voice and practice, rather than being molded into a singular style or hierarchy. Guidance is offered through co‑teaching, observation, dialogue, and inquiry—creating space for teachers to grow in confidence, integrity, and presence.
The Chisme Chakra is a space to connect, take risks, make mistakes, and tell the truth. Together, we nurture teachers who are grounded, thoughtful, and committed to practice as a path toward collective liberation.
Being Part of the Collective
Participation in The Chisme Chakra is a mutual exchange rooted in commitment, care, and shared practice. Members are invited into a learning relationship that centers presence, accountability, and growth—both individual and collective.
On average, participation in the collective involves approximately 4–6 hours per month, with some months heavier than others depending on teaching opportunities and individual mentorship needs.

What Collective Members Receive
1. Bi‑Monthly Gatherings (Approx. 2–3 hours every other month)
Members gather every other month on Sunday midday for in‑person or virtual sessions that include workshops, teaching clinics, shared practice, and time for social connection. These gatherings create space to learn together, exchange feedback, and build relationships beyond transactional teaching environments.
Averaged monthly time: ~1–1.5 hours
2. Access to Teaching Opportunities (Variable)
Collective members receive access to teaching opportunities within The Chisme Chakra community. These opportunities are designed to support new and emerging teachers in gaining real‑world experience while being held in care and accountability. Time commitments vary depending on the opportunity and the teacher’s capacity
Averaged monthly time: ~1–2 hours (optional and capacity‑dependent)
3. One‑to‑One Mentorship (Approx. 1 hour per month)
Each member receives 1:1 mentorship with Joey, offering individualized support tailored to the teacher’s practice, questions, and goals. Mentorship may include feedback on teaching, sequencing support, care for nervous‑system and body‑based needs, and guidance in developing an authentic teaching voice rooted in lived experience.
Averaged monthly time: ~1 hour
The Chisme Chakra honors that members are navigating full lives and multiple commitments. Engagement is meant to be sustainable rather than extractive, with room for flexibility, communication, and care as needs change.
